part 2 - Why TTDI's water is still as dirty as before ?

Just got these two photographs of a water filter, where the water filtration  system was installed just after the water meter. Please email & share  your experience with your TTDI neighbors.

Why do we have to tolerate such 'brown dirt' flowing into our 'beautiful' TTDI houses and on top of it, we have to even pay for such 'dirty' water supply?

Are there any houses in TTDI that does not have to install water filtration system?

Note the thickness of the 'brown dirt'.
Note the 'brown dirt' of the filter rubbed on to the paper.

Why TTDI's water is still as dirty as before ?

The pipes replacement programme during the 2005/2006 period was supposed to solve both the "dirty water" problem as well as reducing water loss or leakage to a manageable level of 20% from the present 40%.

But however, despite the completion of this "PIPE REPLACEMENT" programme, DIRTY WATER still flows out as before...WHY lah? Please do email ttdikl@gmail.com pictures of your "DIRTY WATER".

Launch of
Replacement Pipe Programme in TTDI

Date: Sunday, 15 May 2005
Time : 11:30 am
Venue:
Medan Athinahapan 1, TTDI

Besides Taman Tun, Syabas launched their Phase 1 of their pipe replacement programme at three other venues - Kelana Jaya, Hulu Selangor and Sepang. These areas had been identified as the Most Critical Areas in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. Overall the initial phase of the pipe replacement exercise will include areas in Petaling Jaya, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Klang, Kuala Selangor, Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Langat.

This first Phase, scheduled for completion by the end of 2006 will replace more than 835 km of old pipes and at an estimated cost of RM272 million. Syabas Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Rozali Ismail was on hand in Taman Tun to officially launch the Programme. The Chairman of the TTDI Residents' Association, Hj. Abdul Latib Mohd Som and members of the EXCO were invited to witness the launch.

The critical areas are those where the pipes are between 30 and 40 years old, making them prone to breakage, and reducing water quality and pressure. The residents were informed that the old pipes will be replaced with new ductile iron pipes. The replacement programme will solve both the "dirty water" problem as well as reducing water loss or leakage to a manageable level of 20% from the present 40%.

The public will be informed of work to be carried out via media advertisements. Residents affected by the disruptions caused by the pipe replacement can contact PUSPEL, the customer Service Centre at 1-800-88-5252 for more information.
